Author Amanda Coplin will present a reading of her much-acclaimed debut novel The Orchardist January 30 at 7 p.m. at La Sierra University's Matheson Hall. The event is free and open to the public. A book signing will follow the reading. The Orchardist was listed by Publisher's Weekly as among the Top 10 Literary Fiction books of the season. It was also selected by O Magazine as one of the Top Ten Titles to Pick Up. National Public Radio also listed the work as one of the best historical novels of 2012 and as one of the best book club reads of 2012. It appeared briefly on the New York Times best seller list and has been reviewed by the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, The New Yorker and many other publications.
