Passport Services is unable to process cash, credit, or debit card payments. All payments must be made with check or money order made payable to the Department of State.
The City Clerk's Office is unable to process credit or debit card payments. All payments must be made with cash, check or money order made payable to the City of Riverside.

What Do I Need to Do?
Each applicant is required to:
- Complete the application form.
- Appear personally.
- Present current valid identification (driver's license or State ID card)
- Submit proof of United States Citizenship (original birth certificate, certified copy of birth certificate or original naturalization certificate).
- Bring in one passport photo (or pay the $9 fee for the City Clerk's Office to take the photo).
- Pay the required fees.
It takes approximately 4 to 6 weeks to receive the passport from the Department of State Passport Agency. The City Clerk's Office offers Express Mail to deliver your application to Passport Services. This fee is $12.85 for routine service and can be included in the City payment.
Can I Expedite the Process?
For an additional fee of $60.00 per passport application, Passport Services will expedite your application. This will reduce processing time to approximately 3 weeks.
Passport Services will Express Mail your expedited passport book back to you (1-2 day delivery time) for an additional $12.85 and can be included in the Passport Services payment.
The City Clerk's Office offers Express Mail to deliver your application overnight to Passport Services (1-2 day delivery time). This fee is $18.11 for Express Mail service and can be included in the City payment.
