SR 91 Construction Arlington Lane Closures
Heere’s an update on changing traffic restrictions for the SR 91freeway construction project. Pending any change in plans, on Thursday, February 14 Caltrans will open Central Avenue at the freeway to 4 lanes and on Tuesday, February 19 will begin work on the Arlington interchange which involves widening the freeway bridge over Arlington and lowering Arlington to gain sufficient vertical clearance for the roadway. Traffic will move to the north side of Arlington Avenue while construction takes place on south side. The west bound onramp will be closed for several months and traffic will be detoured to Madison. The east bound onramp will be closed for east bound traffic and for north bound Indiana traffic. The Fox Performing Arts Center (3800 Mission Inn Ave., Riverside, CA 92501) presents a Valentine’s Weekend concert on Friday, February 15 at 8 p.m. featuring Lyfe Jennings and special guest Michael Lynche. Lyfe Jennings is a platinum-selling American R&B and soul singer-songwriter, record producer, and instrumentalist. The New York Times referred to him as a "socially minded R&B singer." He is best known for his hit songs, "Must Be Nice", "Hypothetically", "Statistics" and "Never, Never Land." Michael Lynche is an American singer from St. Petersburg, Florida known as "Big Mike" who was the

Plein Air Artists of Riverside 8th Annual Paint-Out and Quick Draw
The Plein Air Artists of Riverside (PAAR), an Artist Group of the Riverside Art Museum, invites you to join the 8th Annual Paint-Out and Quick Draw from February 16 through February 24. Artists will paint various historically important citrus industry scenes in Riverside and its surrounding areas throughout the nine days.
Habitat ReStore TEDxManhattan Viewing Party
Habitat’s ReStore (2180 Iowa Ave., Riverside, CA 92507) will host a TEDxManhattan’s “Changing the Way We Eat” viewing party from 7:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. With a brilliant line-up of industry experts this TEDx event will explore the state of our food system and progress toward sustainability in eating and farming. The viewing party will also include a Riverside Locavore meeting at 10 a.m. with a discussion about growing healthy pesticide-free food, identifying GMOs, supporting local farms and living sustainably.
Riverside Smithsonian Citizen Science Day
Riverside Metropolitan Museum presents Smithsonian Citizen Science Day. The event begins Saturday, February 16 with a morning walk up Mt. Rubidoux from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Smithsonian Scientist, Rusty Russell, Metropolitan Museum Natural History Curator, James Bryant and Tracy Albrecht, Interpretation Specialist for the Bureau of Land Management, will be talking to park visitors about the ecosystem of Mt. Rubidoux and how to identify plants. From 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. visitors can meet Smithsonian Scientist Rusty Russell at the Metropolitan Museum (3580 Mission Inn Ave., Riverside, CA 92501) and learn more about ways you can study nature in your neighborhoods and back yards through demonstrations, workshops and hands-on activities.
Arlington Business Partnership Lunch and Learn
On Tuesday, February 19 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., Arlington Business Partnership will host their monthly Lunch and Learn with speaker David Chase on the topic, “Healthcare Reform – What Every Business Must Know”.
