Summer Reading Program

Let the Summer Reading Fun Begin!

   Hello, Fellow Readers!

Registration for the Adult Summer Reading Program is now open! (Mizz Reader hasn't been this excited since she found herself in the bathroom of a Barnes & Noble washing her hands at the sink next to Joyce Carol Oates.)

Here's how to sign up:

Go the the Login link. (This link is accessible under "Quick Links" on the right-hand side of your screen.)

Enter your information in all the required fields and hit "Register."

You will then be assigned a username for your account. (Right now, the username by default will be your first initial, last initial, and the last 4 digits of your library card's barcode. Mizz Reader, for example, is mr3033. We hope in the future to enable you to choose a username. Mizz Reader would like to go by the handle "Spanky.")

Within the next day or two, you WILL be able to upload an avatar to your account. We are experiencing technical difficulties with the link at this time, but Mizz Reader assures you the little elves who live in her computer are busy fixing the problem.

You will receive email confirmation once you've successfully registered. Then, the moment of magic: log in and begin reviewing your summer reading!

All book reviews are moderated, so your review won't appear until it has been approved.

And here is Mizz Reader's favorite part: when you click on your username, you will see all your reviews cached!

Please excuse the kinks as we launch this labor of love--and feel free to contact Mizz Reader if you have any questions.

Happy Reading!

Mizz Reader

Love this idea! But I wonder if some of the readers out there don’t know what the star value means. I have read several reviews that have a one star rating, but the review says they loved the book! Maybe you can define the value system for us? Thanks!

You’re right–Mizz Reader herself sometimes gets turned around on the point system because she inadvertently equates higher points with demerits she earned in school or points on her driver’s license. (JUST KIDDING! Mizz Reader is a very responsible person! Really!) Info clarifying the value system of the stars will be posted on the blog and added to the FAQs page. Thank you!
