1. Enchanted: Forest of Light

Leave the traditional twinkle lights behind for this one-mile loop around Descanso Gardens that’s sure to leave you breathless. Part art exhibit, part interactive play, this outdoor installation is full of dazzling magic that’ll enchant your kids. Check out the LED tulip field that changes colors before your very eyes. Play with levers and buttons to change the colors at Lightwave Lake, or step on the lighted pads around the trees to make music at the Symphony of the Oaks.

 

2. California Christmas at the Grove

LA might not see snow on a regular day, but Winter Wonderland at the Grove is no ordinary place. Watch as the snow falls every evening at 7 and 8 p.m., and breathe in the fragrance of the spectacular 100-ft tall Christmas tree. Stop by the Santa House to take professional holiday pictures with Santa, and catch live outdoor performances by some of today’s top artists throughout the month. Close out the night by watching magnificent fireworks light up the sky.

 

3. Holiday Lights: Downtown LA Walking Tour

Seven sparkling destinations await you at this nighttime walking tour of Los Angeles. Meet at LA Union Station and learn about the many cultures of our beautiful city. Watch the candlelight procession on Olvera Street and examine every detail of the Mexican Las Posadas nativity display. 4. Los Angeles Zoo Lights and Reindeer Romp

Visit the animals at the LA Zoo with a special holiday twist. See real reindeer up close, and take holiday pictures with Santa Claus. Enter through the newly reimagined entry plaza and relish in the nightly light shows featuring water displays, lively music, and lasers. 5. Sweet 25 at Mission Inn

Now celebrating 25 years, Mission Inn Hotel & Spa’s Annual Festival of Lights event is one of the largest and most iconic holiday light collections in the nation. Over 5 million lights cover the hotel, including 200 animated figures, from Dickens carolers to angels and elves. Give a kiss to your special someone under the world’s largest man-made mistletoe, ride in a horse-drawn carriage and snack on some delicious holiday nibbles.
