POLICE DEPARTMENT UNVEILS NEW MOBILE APP

RIVERSIDE, CA – The Riverside Police Department is proud to unveil its new and innovative mobile application.  The app, available in the Apple and Android app stores, is free to the public and gives you access to the latest news, photos, videos, events, alerts, and crime information no matter where you are.  In addition, the application allows two-way communications using our social media platforms of Facebook, Nextdoor, Instagram, and Twitter.  It also includes a special feature for submitting anonymous tips to the department, and you can file a police report online.

HERE ARE SOME FEATURES INCLUDED IN OUR APPLICATION:

•ALERTS: You can sign up for alerts that can will be delivered directly to your cell phone.

•SUBMIT A TIP: Be the eyes and ears of RPD by submitting anonymous tips to help fight crime or report suspicious in your neighborhoods.

•CRIME MAPS:  View crime maps of activities in your neighborhood or across the city.

•TRAFFIC COMPLAINTS:  If you notice a traffic problem in your neighborhood, directly send us the information so we can help resolve it.

•PRESS RELEASES:  You can view all official press releases sent out by RPD and other city departments.

•DIRECTORY:  Our directory provides you a list of contact numbers within our department.

•SOCIAL MEDIA:  You will have access to all RPD’s social media platforms through our app.  Did you know you don’t even need to have your own private social media account to view RPD’s Youtube, Twitter, Facebook, Nextdoor, and Instagram?

•POLICE STATIONS:  Find a list of all RPD police stations.

•FILE A REPORT:  You will be able to make certain types of police reports directly from your mobile device.

•LINKS:  Click on “Links” to find information about other City of Riverside departments and area agencies.

•3-1-1:  You can directly access the City of Riverside’s 3-1-1 system, as well as the “Riverside Alert” system.

“We are excited to deliver this new way of connecting with the people in our communities as we strive to make our police department more accessible than ever.   Our goal is to link people to our police department, and find modern ways to reach police department services” says Lt. Christian Dinco.

More features will be added in the future, so please select automatic updating when you download the application.  You will find our app in the Apple and Android app stores by searching “Riverside Police Department.”  Join us in working together to make the city of Riverside a safer place for our residents, businesses, and visitors.
