    Special Event Parking

Special event parking fees help off-set the additional staffing and operational costs of operating garages during extended hours.  The regular daily rates remain consistent with other downtown City parking garages. Additionally, a flat fee of $5.00 is used during the high demand hours when live events occur on evenings and weekends at the Fox Performing Arts Center, the venue capable of generating the largest attendance.

Other City parking facilities located downtown would continue to offer free parking upon entry after 5 p. m. weekdays and weekends, providing a no- cost alternative for those who do not wish to pay for parking. On evenings and weekends when no special live events are occurring at the Fox Performing Arts Center, Garage 7 would be available free of charge to serve downtown parking needs.

      Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I park downtown and receive a validation from the City if I am doing business at City Hall?

Orange Square located at 3901 Orange Street as well as other City-owned parking structures offer the first 90 minutes free. The Downtown Parking Guide has additional information for parking downtown.

There is a vehicle parked in a red zone; can the City come out and cite the vehicle?

Yes, parking in a red zone is a violation of the Riverside Municipal Code and the vehicle will be cited. You can call the 311 Call Center to report any parking violations.

The parking meter is broken, do I have to pay? What do I do? Will I receive a parking citation if I park there anyway?

If a single-space meter is broken it is suggested that you park elsewhere, unless there is a note on the meter you should be okay to park there. If you are parked in a stall where you pay at a machine, and the machine does not work, you can pay at any of the other machines by entering your stall number and following the directions on the machine.
