Bicycle Program

Green Conflict Zones

Residents may notice segments of green paint along roadways, such as the example along University Avenue shown above. At intersections with exclusive right turn lanes, it becomes necessary for bicyclists to exit the bicycle lane and cross a vehicle lane if they wish to continue through at the intersection.

The green conflict zone promotes awareness for bicyclists crossing right turn lanes at intersections. Motorists should yield to a bicyclist who is within the green conflict zone.
