Riverside, CA –
At approximately 1020 hours a Riverside Police Officer attempted to pull over a purple 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier for speed northbound on Tyler Street at Arlington Avenue. The suspect vehicle sped away, continuing northbound Tyler. As the driver attempted to negotiate a turn from northbound Tyler Street to eastbound Mandalay, he struck a white Mitsubishi which was stopped at a stop sign. The suspect vehicle came to a stop and the driver and passenger were taken into custody. The driver of the Mitsubishi was not injured; his vehicle received damage to the front left quarter panel.The driver and passenger of the suspect vehicle were arrested for the listed charges:
Driver: Figueroa III, Juan Ramon, Hispanic male
22 years - Riverside resident
Charges: Parolee at Large; felon in possession of a weapon (handgun),
failure to yield
Passenger: Hispanic male, 17 years - Riverside
resident
Charges: Juvenile felony warrant
The driver of the Mitsubishi was able to drive his vehicle from the scene.
