Location of Incident: Rudicil w/o Van Buren Blvd.
Riverside, Ca. - At approximately 9:53 p.m. on 05-15-01, officers were called to a residence at 2965 Butterfield reference an injury collision.
Officers learned that the driver of a Dodge van had been traveling westbound on Rudicil from Van Buren. For reasons unknown, the front of the van collided with the rear of a flatbed trailer parked on the north side of Rudicil.
Following the collision, the driver exited his vehicle and walked to his home a short distance from the collision scene. AMR Ambulance was called to his residence reference his injuries and he was transported to Riverside Parkview Hospital for treatment. While at the hospital, the driver died from apparent cardiac arrest.
The driver has been identified as James Fischer Peck, 51 years of age, from Riverside.
The Riverside Police Department's Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) was called to the scene to further investigate the collision.
