Riverside, Ca- A city of Riverside fire engine was responding to an emergency call from Fire Station Three on Riverside Avenue when it collided with a 1982 Chrysler near the intersection at Bonita Avenue. The driver and passenger in the Chrysler received moderate injuries and were transported by ambulance to the Riverside Community Hospital for treatment. The fire personnel were not injured.
The Chrysler received moderate damage and the fire engine received minor damage to the front bumper. The fire personnel immediately assisted the injured persons in the Chrysler. Another fire engine from another station was dispatched to the original emergency call.
Several members of the Riverside Police Department's Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) responded to the scene to investigate the collision. The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
