Riverside, Ca- On Monday, October 1, 2001, at approximately 12:30 A.M., officers from the Riverside Police Department responded to a reported subject down in front of a residence in the 7500 block of Fern Street. Upon arrival they located a subject in the front yard of the residence suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. The victim was transported to Riverside Community Hospital where he was undergoing surgery. He was listed as very critical. His name is being withheld for his safety.
Responding officers stopped a vehicle in the area and later determined the occupants had been involved in the shooting. Four suspects have been arrested and booked for charges of attempt murder. The suspects have been identified as: Armando Barajas Garcia, Hispanic male, 18-years-old, of Riverside; Jacob Mario Olivarez, Hispanic male, 19-years-old, of Riverside; Ralph Sanchez Ramirez, Hispanic male, 26-years-old, of Moreno Valley. The fourth suspect’s name is being withheld because he is a juvenile.
