Riverside, Ca- At 2355 hours a 911 hang-up call from a child reporting a domestic disturbance was received by the Communications Center. Officers subsequently responded to the location of the call at a mobile home park at 3701 Fillmore. The home was dark and there was no response from within.
Officers forced entry to the residence to check the welfare of the occupants. They found that the 21-year-old female victim had been injured by her boyfriend. He had barricaded himself in a bedroom with the victim’s six-year-old daughter and was unresponsive.
The SWAT team and hostage negotiators responded. An officer subsequently convinced the suspect to release the girl and surrender.
Robert Hernandez, 31, of Riverside, was arrested and booked into the county jail for the above charges.
