Riverside, Ca- On Monday, May 20, 2002 at 0211 hours, officers from the Riverside Police Department responded to the 4100 block of Pierce regarding a suspicious vehicle and occupants (possible burglary in-progress). The vehicle was described as a white Ford F-150 pickup. Officers searched the area and located a vehicle matching that description. They attempted to contact the occupants who were inside the vehicle. The subjects attempted to leave the area and the F-150 pickup struck a marked black-and-white police car. The occupants attempted to leave on foot. An officer from the Riverside Police Department fired his weapon and struck a suspect. The suspect (who is described as a male/white) was treated at a local hospital. The injuries do not appear to life threatening.
The identity of the suspect of the suspect has not been confirmed pending further investigation.
