Attempted Murder of a Police Officer

Riverside, Ca-  On 111702, officers from the Riverside Police Department attempted to stop a vehicle for traffic violations.  The driver of the vehicle ignored the officers and instead led them to the 8900 block of Colorado where the suspect pulled into a driveway.  The officers exited their vehicles and verbally ordered the suspect to stop.  The suspect refused to comply with the officers’ commands and instead accelerated his vehicle toward an officer.  The officer and a second cover officer fired several shots at the suspect who was struck with a single round.   Medical aid was immediately called to the scene and the suspect was transported to Riverside Community hospital where he is undergoing treatment at this time.  The suspect’s medical condition is listed as  extremely grave.
