approximately 4:05 pm on October 28, 2002, officers were called to the area of
California and Kingsbury regarding a major injury collision.
The preliminary investigation indicates a 1979 Chevrolet panel van was
stopped westbound on California to make a left a turn onto southbound Kingsbury.
A motorcyclist was riding a 1985 Gold Honda Gold Wing behind the van in a
westbound direction of the #1 lane of traffic.
For reasons unknown, the motorcyclist struck the right rear portion of
the van and was ejected from the motorcycle.
The
motorcyclist was taken to Parkview Hospital by AMR where he was pronounced
deceased. The name of the
motorcyclist has been withheld pending notification of relatives. The driver of the Chevrolet van was not injured in the
collision.
Members
of the Major Accident Investigation Team responded to the scene to conduct
further investigation.
