Riverside Police Department Press Release

Riverside, Ca-  At 10:59 PM on Friday, September 6, 2002, a single-vehicle collision occurred on Riverwalk Parkway west of Sierra Vista Street.  On arrival, officers found that the involved vehicle, a late model black Ford Mustang, had left the roadway and struck a concrete street light standard.  The driver, Christopher Ernest Torres, 19, of Riverside, was pronounced deceased at the scene.  The only passenger, Mario Alberto Paez, 19, of Riverside, died shortly after arrival at Riverside Community Hospital.

The Major Accident Investigation Team responded to conduct the initial investigation.
