Riverside, Ca- Chief Russ Leach is pleased to
announce the promotions of Sgt. Paul Villanueva to Lieutenant, Detectives Brian
Dailey and Kendall Banks to the rank of Sergeant, Officer Bruce Blomdahl to the
rank of Sergeant and Officers Linda Roscoe and Scott Impola to the rank of
Detective.
Lieutenant Paul Villanueva began his law
enforcement career with the Long Beach Police Department in 1985. As an officer
in Long Beach, Villanueva performed duties as a patrol officer and worked with
the narcotics unit, gangs unit and the DEA task force. Villanueva transferred to
the Riverside Police Department in 1990 and performed duties as a patrol officer
and worked in the narcotics unit. He was also the department's Public Education
Officer and Public Information Officer. Villanueva was promoted to the rank of
Sergeant in 1999. As a sergeant, Villanueva worked in field operations and
supervised the University Neighborhood Enhancement Team. He was recently
assigned to the Investigations Division supervising School Resource Officers
that work in partnership with the Riverside Unified School District.
Sergeant Brian Dailey began his law enforcement
career with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department in January of 1986. He also
worked for the Santa Ana Police Department for nearly one year. Sergeant Dailey
started his career with the Riverside Police Department in February of 1989. As
an officer, Dailey performed duties as a patrol officer, field training officer,
bike patrol, narcotics and S.W.A.T. Dailey was promoted to the rank of Detective
in November of 2001. As a Detective, Dailey worked with the West County
Narcotics Task Force and was the coordinator for the Riverside Police Explorer
Post.
Sergeant Kendall Banks began his law enforcement
career with the Riverside Sheriff’s office in 1990. Sergeant Banks transferred
to the Riverside Police Department in 1991. As an officer, Banks performed
duties as a patrol officer, field training officer, narcotics and S.W.A.T. In
1998, Banks was awarded the Medal of Valor. Banks was promoted to the rank of
Detective in November of 2001. As a Detective, Banks worked in the gangs and
narcotics unit.
Sergeant Bruce Blomdahl began his law enforcement
career with the Riverside Police Department in 1993. As an officer, Blomdahl
performed duties as a patrol officer, gangs and S.W.A.T. Blomdahl has been a
defensive tactics instructor since 1996. In 1998, Blomdahl was awarded with the
Medal of Valor. Blomdahl was also named “Safety Officer of the Month” for April
2003.
Detective Scott Impola started his law enforcement
career with the Riverside Police department in December of 1993. As an officer,
Impola performed duties as a patrol officer and field training officer. He was a
member of the Problem Oriented Policing Team, S.W.A.T., Honor Guard and worked a
special assignment at the Galleria at Tyler.
Detective Linda Roscoe started her law enforcement
career with the Riverside Police Department in 1988. As an officer, Roscoe
performed duties as a patrol officer, field training officer, school resource
officer and youth resource officer.
