Riverside, Ca- On Friday February 28, 2003 at
about 1:33 A.M. Riverside police officers responded to 1995 University Avenue in
response to a 911 call of gunshots heard in the area. Officers located two
gunshot victims behind the El Ojo de Agua Taqueria Restaurant. Medical aid
personnel responded and pronounced them deceased at the scene.
One victim is a male adult from Compton, California. The second victim is an
adult female from Riverside. Their identities are being withheld pending
notification of next of kin. These murders do not appear to be gang related or
racially motivated.
Investigators responded to search the neighborhood for witnesses and process the
crime scene for forensic evidence. The investigation is continuing. Anyone with
