Homicide

Riverside, Ca-  On Thursday, January 2nd at about 8:53 PM the Riverside Police Department responded to the north dead end of Mountain High Road when a citizen called to report that her husband had just been shot through their bedroom window. The residence sits alone on a small hill just west of Western Hills Road in the La Sierra area of Riverside. The Riverside Police Department Air unit and RFD also responded. Upon arrival officers found a victim suffering from a gunshot wound and he was immediately transported via AMR ambulance to Riverside Community Hospital. While undergoing emergency treatment the victim died.

The victim has been identified Brian John Jacques, 73 years old and is the owner of the residence where the shooting took place. The victim and his wife were home alone when the shooting occurred.

Officers at the scene did not locate any suspects or vehicles related to this shooting. One witness may have seen a small dark colored newer vehicle on the road leading to the residence where the shooting took place about the time when the victim was shot but could not provide any further details to identify the vehicle.
