Murder Suspect Arrested

Riverside, Ca-  Members of the Riverside Police Department’s Crimes Against Persons Unit and the Parole and Corrections Team (PACT) arrested 37 year-old Alfred Villaneda today for the murder of Taure Hill. Villaneda was taken into custody at his home in the 3600 block of Douglas Street.

On Sunday January 19, 2003 at about 10:34 P.M. Riverside Police responded to the area of Loma Vista and Dwight Streets after a resident heard the sound of a gunshot. Upon arrival officers located 25 year-old Taure Hill of Victorville. He had sustained a single gunshot wound to his torso. He was transported to a local hospital where he later died.

Investigators believe that a verbal confrontation between the two men resulted in the shooting. There is no indication that this incident is gang related or racially motivated.
