Riverside, Ca- On Monday, June
2, 2003 at approximately 4:00 pm, officers from the Riverside Police Department
received information that both the victim, Annabella Jade Clark and her
abductor, Charles William Mix were located in Richfield, Utah after a citizen
called the Richfield Police Department stating that both parties were sitting in
the grass at a local church eating some food. The citizen reported them to be
“suspicious”. When then police arrived, they realized that both Charles Mix and
Annabella Clark were related to the nationwide Amber Alert that had been issued
earlier in the day.
Charles Mix was taken into custody without incident and Annabella Clark appeared
to be in good health. Detectives from the Riverside Police Department will be
traveling to Utah to make contact with both parties.
The Riverside Police Department would like to thank the citizens, the California
Highway Patrol, the Federal Bureau of Investigations, the Media and all other
agencies for their assistance in getting the word out to assist us in safely
locating Annabella Clark.
