Riverside, Ca- On May 14, 2003, Troy Radford,
a Riverside resident, white male, 37 years of age, appeared and surrendered in
the North County Division of the Orange County Superior Court. The Court issued
a felony arrest warrant for him on May 1, 2003 (Court Case No. 03NF1360). A
criminal complaint, charging him with grand theft (487a PC) was filed as the
result of an investigation by the Anaheim Police Dept. (Case No. 02-6971). The
Anaheim PD case was related to a search warrant served at Radford’s Riverside
residence by Riverside PD on 10-18-01.
A RPD press release was issued
at that time. A copy of the prior release is attached.
Information obtained at Radford’s residence led investigators to three other
hotels in California where “Advanced Satellite Systems” owned by Radford had
similar satellite TV systems installed. Two of these hotels are located in
Anaheim, Holiday Inn Express and Four Points Sheraton. The total revenue loss to
DirecTV and their program providers HBO and others exceeds $200,000.
Radford was released on his own recognizance with his next court appearance set
for June 18, 2003, in Dept. 8, of the Orange County Superior Court.
