Riverside, Ca- Riverside
Police arrested 31 year-old Paul Douglas Anderson of Ontario this evening for
the murder of 19 year-old Pamela Thompson.
On Friday November 7th, 2003 the Riverside Police Department responded to a 911
call of an injured female at 3170 Canyon Crest Drive. Upon arrival they found 19
year-old Pamela Thompson lying critically injured in the driveway of her
apartment complex. She later died at Riverside Community Hospital.
Family members reported that Pamela left her residence at about 9:30 P.M. to go
to a friend’s house. She discovered her car was missing from the parking lot.
She used her cellular telephone to call her mother about her car being gone. As
she spoke to her mother, Pamela saw her car. While still on the phone with her,
Pamela told her mother the car was being driven directly at her at a high rate
of speed. A moment later the telephone call was disconnected. Police believe
Pamela’s vehicle struck her, as it was being stolen and fleeing from the scene.
On Thursday November 13, 2003 at about 9:00 A.M. police located Pamela’s 1993
Nissan Sentra near the intersection of Libby and Houston Streets in Riverside.
They impounded the car and are processing it for trace evidence such as
fingerprints, hairs and fibers.
On Friday November 14, 2003 at about 2:00 P.M. investigators arrested Paul
Anderson and 38 year-old David Ramos of Upland. They were located at a residence
in the 34600 block of D Street in Yucaipa, California. Anderson was booked for
187 P.C. Murder and 496 P.C. Possession of Stolen Property. They located
evidence in Anderson’s possession that connected him to the crime. Ramos was
booked for 496 P.C. Possession of Stolen Property and 470 P.C. Forgery and 496
P.C. Possession of Stolen Property.
The investigation is on going, therefore, many details of what occurred are not
being released at this time. Police believe there are additional people who have
information related to this tragic incident. Anyone with information about this
investigation is urged to contact Detective Greg Rowe at 909-320-8024 or
