Chief Russ Leach Announces Promotion
 

Riverside, Ca-  Chief Russ Leach is pleased to announce the promotion of Sergeant Ken Carpenter to the rank of Lieutenant.

Lieutenant Ken Carpenter began his law enforcement career serving four years as a Law Enforcement Specialist in the United States Air force. In 1979, Carpenter became a Police Officer with the Riverside Police Department.

As a Police Officer, Carpenter performed duties as a Patrol Officer, Accident Investigator and ten years as a Field Training Officer. Lieutenant Carpenter also worked in the Personnel Services Division as a Background Investigator and Training Coordinator.

In 1995, Carpenter was promoted to the rank of Detective and assigned to the Traffic Bureau as an Accident Follow-Up Investigator.

Lieutenant Carpenter was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 1999. As a Supervisor, Carpenter performed duties in Field Operations and, most recently, Internal Affairs.
