Riverside, Ca-  On April 25, 2005, at 4:47 pm, a 43-year-old male riding a mountain bike was traversing northeast across California just east of Harrison Avenue. The bicyclist cut between westbound vehicles turning left onto Harrison and was hit by a 16-year-old female driving a 2000 Toyota mini van west on California Avenue.

The bicyclist, Harold Barnes, was transported to Riverside Community Hospital where he was treated by the emergency room staff and then admitted. He was listed in critical condition with head trauma and a broken femur. The 16-year-old female driver was uninjured in the collision.
