Riverside, Ca-  Chief Russ Leach is pleased to announce the promotion of Officer Russ Shubert to the rank of Sergeant.

Sergeant Shubert began his law enforcement career as a Police Officer with the Riverside Police Department in 1989. As an officer, Sergeant Shubert performed duties as a Field Training Officer and in 1993 was assigned to the Aviation Unit where he obtained a Commercial Pilot License. In 1999, he was selected as a member of the SWAT Team, where he served until 2003, when he was assigned to his current assignment in the Office of the Chief Personnel and Training Division.

Sergeant Shubert will begin his new assignment effective May 6, 2005.
