Riverside, Ca- Chief Russ Leach is pleased to announce the promotion of Officer Mike Cobb to the rank of Detective.

Detective Cobb began his law enforcement career with the Sierra Madre Police Department in 1991 as a Reserve Police Officer. In August of 1993, he was promoted to a full time Police Officer with Sierra Madre Police Department where he performed duties as Field Training Officer.

In September of 1996, Detective Cobb was hired by the Riverside Police Department where he was assigned to Field Operations Patrol Division, performing duties a Patrol officer and Field Training Officer. In 2002, he transferred to the University Neighborhood Enhancement Team (UNET).

In 2003, Detective Cobb was assigned to the School Resource Officer Unit, where he performed related duties as a School Resource Officer (SRO) at North High School. He was most recently assigned to Field Operations Patrol Division, performing patrol officer duties.

Detective Cobb’s promotion was effective August 26, 2005.
