Riverside, Ca-  On Wednesday, December 7, 2005, Riverside Police Detectives arrested Jaray Deshon Christy, 23, of Moreno Valley at Riverside County Regional Medical Center, in connection with the armed robbery that occurred at Alessandro Liquor in Riverside on December 5, 2005. During the commission of the robbery, Christy’s accomplice Marshawn Burns was shot and killed by an employee at the store. Christy was also shot by the employee; however, he is expected to survive but is still hospitalized at Riverside County Regional Medical Center.

Detectives focused their investigation on Christy when, shortly after the robbery, the Riverside Police Dispatch Center received a call from an emergency room nurse at Riverside County Regional Medical Center in Moreno Valley regarding a gunshot victim - Christy - who walked into the emergency room. Christy initially stated he was shot in a park in Moreno Valley, but later admitted to being involved in the robbery.
