Riverside, Ca- Chief Russ Leach is pleased to
announce the addition of seven experienced police officers to the Riverside
Police Department. The new officers will be sworn in at a ceremony at Riverside
City Hall on Tuesday, December 20, 2005, at 5:30 p.m.
Six officers are transferring from the Rialto Police Department
Officer Miguel Anderson has been a Rialto police officer for five years, where assignments included Patrol and the SWAT Team.
Officer Henry Park became a police officer in 2003; his previous assignments included Patrol and SWAT Team.
Officer Timothy Roy joined the Rialto force in 1994, where assignments included the Traffic Division, Field Training Officer and San Bernardino County Auto Theft Task Force.
Officer Shawn Shourds has served as a Rialto patrol officer for five years.
Officer Jayson Jahinian worked for the Rialto department for six years; his assignments included Patrol, SWAT Team and Field Training Officer.
Officer Neely Santos served the Rialto police for five years where assignments included Patrol, Crime Impact Team and Field Training Officer.
The seventh, Officer Anthony Watkins, is the first
successful lateral transfer from the California Highway Patrol in recent memory.
Watkins graduated from the CHP Cadet Training Center in 2001, and was most
recently assigned to CHP Patrol Division in Santa Fe Springs.
“These new officers add valuable experience, policing skills and diversity to
the Riverside Police Department and we are proud to have them join us as we
continue to develop our model police agency,” said Chief Russ Leach.
