Riverside, Ca- On Sunday, December 25, 2005, at approximately 8:06 PM, Riverside Police received several reports of shots heard in the area of Nichols Park. Shortly after that, a report of a gunshot victim came from a residence in the 6300 block of Antioch Avenue.
Upon arrival Officers found an eleven year old boy who had been struck by a bullet fired from outside of the house. One of the Officers began administering CPR while waiting for American Medical Response to arrive. The victim was taken to Riverside Community Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Detectives were called to the scene and began a homicide
investigation. The preliminary information revealed a dark colored Mitsubishi or
Toyota had driven by around the time several shots were fired at the house. The
occupant of that car is being sought for questioning by Detectives. The
residents are new to the neighborhood. There is no known motive at this time.
