Riverside, Ca- The Riverside Police Department
has been participating in National Night Out since 1996 and is pleased once
again to be part of this event sponsored by the National Association of Town
Watch. National Night Out is a nationwide crime and drug prevention event
bringing police and neighborhoods together for a night of socializing and fun.
The National Night Out “Kick-Off” event will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2005,
at Bordwell Park, located at 2008 Martin Luther King Boulevard, from 5 PM to 9
PM. The event will include live entertainment, a “Kids and Cops” basketball game
and a “Movie in the Park.”
On Tuesday, August 2, 2005, neighborhoods throughout the City of Riverside and
nationwide will take part in celebrating National Night Out from 6 PM to 9 PM.
On this evening Neighborhood Watch Groups will host block parties, ice cream
socials, and many other events at various locations throughout the city.
National Night Out will also be celebrated in Riverside at Bryant Park, from 4
PM to 8 PM.
The National Night Out “Finale” event will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2005,
at Myra Linn Park, located at 4540 Meredith Street, from 4 PM to 9 PM. The event
will include a “Kids and Cops” soccer game, a “Movie in the Park,” and local
talent performances.
