Riverside, Ca- The Riverside Police Department has been conducting prostitution related investigations in reference to related activity along University Avenue. On Wednesday, October 26, 2005, members of the Riverside Police Department Special Investigations Bureau, including Vice Unit detectives, continued their investigation and observed a male and female engage in activity that was consistent with prostitution. Further investigation resulted in the arrest of the subjects for prostitution related crimes. Additionally, one of the subjects attempted to bribe one of the detectives by offering a substantial amount of cash in exchange for releasing her and destroying evidence.

Arrested were:

Reginald Jabor Gabriel, 23 yrs. old of Los Angeles. He was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center for PC 266(h) Pimping.

Jamiece Lacole Richardson, 19 yrs. old of Los Angeles. She was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center for PC 67 (Attempting to Bribe a Public Official) and PC 653.22(a) Loitering for Prostitution.

In addition to the mentioned arrests, Special Investigations Bureau detectives conducted two parole/probation searches earlier this week related to on-going prostitution investigations. These searches resulted in several arrests for outstanding warrants including prostitution, parole violations, and possession of rock cocaine.

Since September 2005, the Riverside Police Department, including the University Neighborhood Enhancement Team (UNET), has conducted many anti prostitution programs along University Avenue. To date, our efforts have resulted in 74 arrests for prostitution related activity.

The Riverside Police Department has dedicated all available resources to University Avenue and will strongly investigate and enforce all prostitution and other related laws.
