Riverside, Ca- On September 14, 2005, at 7:40pm, 28-year-old Korei Kilburn, a Riverside resident, was driving his 2000 Ford Taurus, traveling east in the #2 lane of Indiana Avenue. Martha Navaro, a 46-year-old female, who resides in Colton, was following her husband running northbound across Indiana Avenue from the shopping center just west of La Sierra Avenue.

Mr. Kilburn’s attention was apparently drawn to Mr. Navaro as he crossed in front of him, at which time his vehicle struck Mrs. Navaro who sustained major injuries.

Witnesses called in the accident and the Riverside Fire Department responded to the scene. Riverside Fire personnel pronounced Mrs. Navaro deceased at the scene from major trauma injuries sustained in the collision.

Members of the Riverside Police Department’s (M.A.I.T.) Major Accident Investigation Team responded to the scene and the investigation is ongoing.
