Riverside, Ca- On Saturday, October 1, 2005, the
Riverside Police Department’s Traffic Education Unit will host the 8th Annual
Traffic Safety Fair at Castle Park (3500 Polk Street), from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
The Traffic Safety Fair provides educational fun for the entire family. There
will be over thirty safety booths featuring bicycle, train, and child safety
seat information. Other events include face painting, fingerprinting, and a
ParaMagic show. Free drawings will be held throughout the day and participants
will have a chance to win bicycles, skateboards, train sets and gift
certificates.
Free Helmets will be awarded to the first 200 children to properly navigate
RPD’s safety city. In addition, Inland Counties Tech Team will sponsor a free
car seat clinic. Please call (951) 358-7171 to make an early appointment.
Participating agencies include the Riverside Fire Department, California Highway
Patrol, Riverside Community College Police, UCR Police Department, Inland Empire
Safe Kids, CalTrans – “4R Kids Sake,” Riverside County Injury Prevention
Services and Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad – “Operation Lifesavers.”
