Riverside, Ca- On Tuesday August 10, 2004 at
8:14 A. M. Riverside Police Officers responded to 1110 W. Blaine Street after
receiving a 911 call from a 21 year-old male victim of an assault. He sustained
severe injuries to his upper body, including a fractured neck.
When police arrived at the scene they identified themselves as police officers
and knocked on the apartment door. They got no response. Fearing for the safety
of anyone inside, they forced entry into the apartment. They located the victim
on the floor of the apartment. They summoned medical aid personnel that
transported him to Riverside Community Hospital. He is in critically unstable
condition.
As the police were entering the apartment, 23 year-old Aaron Harris of San
Bernardino fled through an upstairs window. He was taken into custody nearby.
Investigators interviewed him and later booked him into the Robert Presley
Detention Center for 664-187 P.C. Attempted Murder.
Investigators are not releasing further details of the case due to additional
interviews being necessary.
