Riverside, Ca- On 08-19-04, members of the
Riverside Police Department responded to the 4500 block of Pine St. reference an
anonymous "We-Tip" message regarding drugs, counterfeiting, and identity theft.
Investigators and officers from the Economic Crimes Unit, Auto Theft Unit, and
PACT Team (Parole and Corrections Team) conducted a parole search at the
location.
Detective Paul deJong is the Case Agent overseeing the investigation.
Investigators and officers recovered drugs, a large amount of stolen and
counterfeit checks, and counterfeit identification cards. Several counterfeit
items were seized as well as computer equipment used in the manufacturing of
counterfeit documents used for various fraudulent check and identity theft
crimes. As a result of the investigation, numerous victims were identified and
will be contacted as the investigation continues.
