Riverside, Ca- Riverside Police Officers responded to the In-Cahoots
Bar at 3742 Park Sierra Ave. regarding a large fight. Upon arrival, they
encountered a large crowd in the parking lot and a traffic collision involving
several vehicles and a pedestrian.
The investigation revealed the driver of an involved vehicle had been in an
altercation inside the bar. He was overheard making threats he was going to get
a knife from his vehicle and return the bar. Bar patrons followed the suspect
outside and surrounded his vehicle. The bar patrons started to beat on the
vehicle and broke several of the vehicle’s windows. The suspect attempted to get
away from the unruly crowd and hit one of the pedestrians and several vehicles
within the parking lot.
The pedestrian suffered major injuries from being struck by the vehicle and was
transported to Riverside Community Hospital. He is listed in serious condition
suffering from three brain lacerations.
The suspect was stopped and removed from his vehicle by the crowd and security
officers from the bar. The suspect suffered minor injuries from being removed
from his vehicle. He was treated for his injuries at Riverside Community
Hospital and subsequently booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center for
violation of 23153(a) VC, DUI Causing Injury to Others.
The Riverside Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T)
responded and is conducting the investigation.
