Fatal Hit and Run Traffic Collision

Riverside, Ca-  On January 25, 2004 at 6:33 PM officers of the Riverside Police Department responded to a call of a traffic collision involving a pick up truck and a bicyclist on Mission Inn Avenue west of Redwood Dr. Officers learned that a white male adult was riding a bicycle westbound on Mission Inn Avenue when the above listed vehicle, also traveling westbound struck him from behind. The truck fled the scene without stopping. Riverside Fire Department and AMR Paramedics treated the bicyclist on scene before he was transported to Riverside Community Hospital. He died from his injuries a short time later. The identity of the victim is pending.

There is no suspect description at this time. The truck should have front-end damage. Anyone with information related to this incident is urged to contact Detective Dwayne May at (909) 826-5178.

Suspect Vehicle: Early to mid 90's white Toyota pick-up with tinted windows and a "cab high" camper shell.
