Riverside, Ca- Investigators from the
Riverside Police Department arrested 36 year-old Rosalia Macias of Riverside
tonight after she solicited an undercover police officer to kill her estranged
husband. They arrested her at the GuadalaHarry’s Restaurant in San Bernardino
where she is employed as a manager.
In the early part of June, a citizen informant contacted agents from the U.S.
Department of Homeland Security Investigations and Criminal Enforcement about a
woman who was looking for someone to kill her husband. They reported the
information to the Riverside Police Department. Detectives from the Homicide
Unit and Gang Unit conducted an extensive undercover operation that spanned two
weeks.
Macias met with an undercover officer two times at the GuadalaHarry’s
Restaurant. During those meetings and several phone calls, they discussed her
plan to kill her estranged husband so she could collect money from his life
insurance policy. She offered to pay the officer $150,000 for the killing.
During tonight’s meeting she gave the officer a down payment and drew a map to
her husband’s place of employment. She was arrested without incident.
Investigators served two Search Warrants looking for evidence related to the
crime. One warrant was served at the restaurant located at 280 Hospitality Lane
in San Bernardino. The other warrant was served at her home in the 5200 block of
Bushnell Avenue in Riverside.
Macias was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center for 664-187 P.C.
Attempted Murder and 653 (F)(b) P.C. Solicitation for Murder.
Police are not releasing the identity of the estranged husband.
Anyone with information related to this crime is asked to contact Detective Mike
Medici at 909-320-8049.
