Two separate shooting incidents, injure two victims

Riverside, Ca- On December 13, 2006 at 8:12 p.m., officers responded to the area of Rutland Avenue and Jo Jo Way, Riverside in reference to a report of a gunshot victim. An adult male was located at the scene with two gunshot wounds to the upper body. The victim was taken to Riverside Community Hospital by paramedic ambulance in stable condition. The victim stated a dark small-size SUV vehicle drove by and fired a gun several times. There were two unknown male suspects in the vehicle, which fled the scene after shooting the victim.

At the same time of this incident there was a report of another gunshot victim at Parkview Community Hospital who had arrived by private vehicle. The victim stated he was driving in the area of Tyler Street and Eureka Drive and was shot at while driving home. Following the shooting the victim drove home and was taken to the hospital by a family member. The victimís vehicle was struck several times by gun fire and the victim received a minor wound to the back. The victim was later released from the hospital.

The investigation is on-going and it is unknown if the shooting incidents are related.
