Armed Convenience Store Robbery Suspect Arrested

Riverside, Ca- On Tuesday December 12, 2006, Riverside Police Holiday Enforcement Officers along with Riverside Robbery Detectives arrested a subject wanted in connection with a series of six (6) convenience store robberies.

This series of robberies occurred during the months of November and December 2006. The lone male suspect would enter the business and, while armed with a handgun, he would demand money. He would take the money and flee in a waiting vehicle.

During the course of the investigation, robbery detectives were able to obtain photographs of the unknown suspect. On Thursday, December 7, 2006, this information was shared with the officers assigned to the Holiday Enforcement and METRO teams. By the end of that shift, officers had the suspect identified.

These officers executed a search warrant at the suspectís residence on December 12, 2006. Just prior to executing the warrant, the suspect was detained in the front yard of his residence. Several items of evidence were located inside the residence and were seized.

The suspect was transported to the Magnolia Neighborhood Policing Center for an interview. During the course of the interview the suspect confessed to his involvement in these crimes. He was subsequently booked into Robert Presley Detention Center for six (6) counts of robbery.

The suspect is identified as:

Travis JACKSON, 18 years old of Riverside.

This is another example of the fine work that is underway to reduce the incidence of criminal activity during this holiday season.
