Southern California Burglary Ring Busted

Riverside, Ca- On December 11, 2006, the Hobby People store in the 10100 Block of Indiana in Riverside, reported a burglary to the Riverside Police Department. Officers responded and conducted an initial investigation. Burglary Detectives assisted and began follow up that culminated with a search warrant in the 6000 block of Fuji Street located in the County of Riverside.

The search warrant was based on information that identified the occupants of the residence as being part of a burglary crew, working throughout the Southern California and Las Vegas, Nevada areas. The warrant was served on December 27, 2006.

When the Detectives and Officers entered the residence, they discovered stolen property from not only the Riverside, Hobby People burglary, but also from several other businesses located throughout Southern California.

The recovered property is estimated to be valued at more than $100,000. The property includes; Plasma Televisions that were taken during a cargo theft in Los Angeles County, Video Games and Consoles from Game Stop stores in Moreno Valley and Vista, DVD Movies, Radio Controlled Cars and other items taken from hobby stores and video game outlets, high-end camera and photography equipment from a Ritz Camera in the City of Los Angeles and stereo/audio equipment that is believed to be from an unreported or undiscovered burglary.

Several adults are suspected of participating in the burglary ring. An adult female was arrested at the scene and booked into Riverside County Jail for being in possession of stolen property. The investigation is continuing and Detectives anticipate more arrests will follow shortly. The lead detective in the investigation is Detective Laura Riso.
