Bicycles donated to RPD Bike Team
Riverside, Ca- Six new bicycles have been,
donated by BMW of Riverside, have been put into service with the Riverside
Police Department Bike Team. The BMX Cruise Bike is manufacturer-equipped with
state-of-the-art Digit 3.0 V brakes, front SRAM 3.0 derailleurs, back SRAM SX
derailleurs and a 24-speed Rapid Fire shift system.
The 20-inch frame bikes will be used to patrol parks and pedestrian areas as
part of the department’s Mobile Field Force.
“Over the course of many years, the BMW has achieved a singular reputation for
product excellence,” said Phil Riley, Parts Department Manager at BMW of
Riverside, “and we are proud to contribute a superior product to the important
work of the Riverside Police Bike Team.”
The donation “shows a shared commitment to the public playing an active role as
co-producers of public safety,” Riverside Police Chief Russ Leach said. “We are
pleased by this show of corporate support for community policing.”
