Homicide – Husband Shoots Wife and Calls Police
Riverside, Ca- On July 1, 2006, at approximately 6:17 PM, the Riverside Police Communications Center received a call
from the resident of a house in the 5000 Block of Hallwood Avenue in Riverside. The caller, Robert Baillie, 50-years-old, reported
that someone had been shot and asked that an ambulance be sent to his house. When questioned by the police dispatcher, Baillie
admitted he was the shooter and that his wife, Jolene Baillie, 48-years-old, was the victim.
Police Officers responded to the house and began to assume positions in the neighborhood when Baillie exited the house and surrendered to them. He told them where they could find his wife in the house. She was taken by ambulance to Riverside Community Hospital where she underwent emergency medical treatment for his injuries. She died later in the night.
Mr. Baillie was arrested for the shooting and remains in custody at the Robert Presley Detention Center. Anyone with additional information regarding this incident is urged to contact Detective Steve Pounds at (951) 826-3263.
