Police Vehicle Pursuit

Riverside, Ca- At about 1626 hours, officers from the Riverside Police Departmentís Police and Corrections Team (PACT) responded to a residence in the 4600 block of Texas in the City of Riverside. The team received information that a parolee at large was staying at this residence. The team also had information the parolee was armed. With the assistance of a Riverside Police helicopter, officers attempted to make contact at the residence. The suspect saw the officers approaching and managed to escape in a vehicle after fleeing the residence and ignoring officerís orders to stop. The police helicopter followed the suspect as he fled in the vehicle and directed patrol units to the suspectís location.

The suspect refused to stop for the pursuing officers and he led officers on a high-speed pursuit. The pursuit ended several minutes later when the suspect crashed into the back of another vehicle and then into the wall in the 4600 block of Arlington. The suspect was then taken into custody. The driver of the other vehicle complained of pain but was not transported to a hospital. The parolee sustained minor injuries because of the collision and was treated and released at Riverside Community Hospital before being booked into Robert Presley Detention Center. During the subsequent investigation, a firearm and ammunition was located and seized at the residence. A small amount of methamphetamine was also located and tied to a second suspect in the investigation at the residence.

The parolee, Ronnie GUERRERO, 31, of Norwalk, was arrested for a parole violation, felony evading, and felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition. A second suspect, Jesus Quiroz, 31, of Riverside was arrested at the residence for possession of methamphetamine. Both were booked into Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside.
