Third arrest in orange grove homicide
Riverside, Ca- A third suspect in the Riverside orange grove homicide was arrested Tuesday morning, July 24, by federal agents.
Nikolaus Ryan MESKE, 27, of Riverside, was detained at the San Ysidro border crossing, south of San Diego, by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents while trying to re-enter the United States on false identification, while allegedly trying to smuggle illegal immigrants into the country. With the assistance of the federal-local Inland Regional Apprehension Team (IRAT), Meske was arrested Tuesday on an outstanding parole warrant on an earlier matter. In custody, Meske was then returned to Riverside, where he was booked for the homicide.
Meske joins additional suspects, Scott Stephen HUSSEY, 38, and Ernesto Antonio PENA, 30, both of Riverside, who were arrested over the weekend. All are in custody at Robert Presley Detention Center. The investigation is still underway.
The body of the victim, identified as Sherri Suzanne Moore, 38, of Riverside, was discovered wrapped and dumped July 17 in an orange grove near the intersection of McAllister Street and Dufferin Avenue in Riverside’s Arlington Heights area.
