Man sought after lewd offer to young girl

Riverside, Ca- Riverside Police are searching for a man who approached a young girl in a car while fondling himself on Tuesday afternoon, May 15.

A sixth-grade student was rollerblading in Riversides Orangecrest neighborhood about 4 p.m., when the man pulled alongside her to ask for directions. The encounter ended without incident but the man reappeared at about 4:20 p.m., asking for another location. The girl noticed the man was fondling himself. He then asked her if she wanted a ride. She refused and left the area and the man drove away. The 11-year-old girl immediately called her mother.

The first encounter took place in the vicinity of two-block-long Santa Clara Court; the second near Ruby Red Court and Tarocco Lane in the southeastern corner of the city. There was a report of a similar lewd conduct sighting earlier in the afternoon north of the area.

The girl described the man as a white male, late 30s, red hair, brown eyes, with a couple of days of light-colored stubble. He was driving a dark green four-door compact car or small sedan, with a large bass drum and drumsticks in the back.

The Riverside Police helicopter joined in the search; the suspect vehicle was not located.

Anyone with information about this incident or who recognizes the description of this individual is asked to contact the 24-hour Riverside Police line at (951) 787-7911.
