The Art Alliance Presents

The Art Alliance invites the general public to join them on the third Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m.* for the following programs:

January 16* (special lunch meeting at noon):

Betty Parks will discuss RAM and its legacy as a haven for potters. She headed a group of RAM potters through the 1970s and 1980s. She and her husband, Walter, have an extensive collection of pottery, with an emphasis on pottery from Mata Ortiz, Mexico.

February 20:

Dr. Vince Moses will discuss the work of Henry L. A. Jekel, one of Riverside's best-known architects of the California Style in the 1920s and ‘30s. Jekel is the focus of the Henry L. A. Jekel: Architect of Eastern Skyscrapers and the California Style exhibition co-curated by Dr. Moses, based on the book of the same name co-written with Catherine E. Whitmore.

March 19:

Todd Wingate will discuss exhibition strategies and provide a behind-the-scenes look at how RAM’s exhibitions are developed. Hear about future plans and exciting news about exhibition partnerships currently in development, as well as an update on exhibition and collection expansion plans for The Cheech.

April 16:

Art Alliance members share their own art, personal stories, and the history of the piece they brought to share. This is always one of the Art Alliance members’ favorite meetings!
