Elks Hoop Shoot

Saturday, October 19, 2024

The Elks Hoop Shoot is a free-throw contest that invites kids ages 8-13 (as of 4/1/25) to showcase their basketball skills, with the ultimate goal of making it to the national finals. Participants compete in three different age groups for both boys and girls: ages 8-9, 10-11, and 12-13. The competition begins at the local lodge level and progresses through district, state, and regional contests, culminating in the national finals held annually in Chicago.

This year, Riverside Lodge 643 is thrilled to host its Hoop Shoot competition on Saturday, October 19, at 2 p.m. at Bobby Bonds Park/Cesar Chavez Community Center. This free event is open to young athletes looking to compete in a friendly, fun atmosphere and is sure to be an exciting day for participants and their families. Winners from the local level will advance to district, state, and even national competitions, with a chance to have their names honored at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
